Anyone familiar with this magazine pouch for a single 30 rd. M-16 magazine?

 

"POUCH MAGAZINE 30 ROUND 5.56 MM 10/70" is stamped on the inside of the flap.

 

Whatever markings were on the back were blacked out when I bought it thirty some years ago.

I have an identical pouch but it is marked for a grenade launcher sight. I think this pouch was simply re-marked and used for the 30rd mag. I'll see if I can find my pouch and post pics.

Is this perhaps a USAF police item? I don't know, just a suggestion...

Some time ago I had a similar pouch but was a double version. I was told it was for mags used with the Stoner 63 series rifles.
