I've had this helmet for years. I know that some believe decals are post war but I believe this is a Camp Hood early days helmet. This was not my grandfathers helmet but the picture of my grandfather shows 1917 helmets in use during Camo Hoods inception. Thoughts

I love it, looks like its been on there forever, i wonder what year they started using that insignia?...although i dont know much about the tank destroyers history...mike

Thanks Mike, the helmet is one that I have that is really different and one that can make someone stare and say that it is a one of a kind Helmet but at the same time it can scare people because of the unknown.

No issues with this helmet. I have a similar one with the standard armor branch decal on front.

Richard Smith gives a 22 September 1942 date for the TDF shoulder patch.
