Finally got a good portion of this patch collection. Actually ended up getting his doubles of these as well.

 

Wil lia m H. R e e s name can be found in the Acknowledgements section of "The Ravens" book.

 

He retired as a commercial pilot in 1997. Started his military career in 1956.

 

Served in SE Asia from 1961-1965.

The "Phantom" patch was a commercially available novelty patch, as opposed to a military patch. That is not to say it didn't have a different context for someone in the US Air Force.

He flew T-33, T-37, F-86, F-84, F-5, T-28, B-26 and A-1 planes.

 

F-5s are called Tiger?

F-4s are Phantoms?

 

His writeup didn't say F-4, but maybe he flew one too.
