This was hooked under the lapel strap on the latest Ike I got... I can't put my finger on it, though I am sure I have seen one before...

 

 

Opener for C rations...I think they're usually stuck (soldered? tacked?) to the bottom.

And the C rations it appears. Real hard to see close up examples with a billion pictures of P-38 openers!

The most common key for a G.I., closely followed by a 'church key'.

Now that i am familiar with!

Also an old coffee can opener. I still remember these from the 50s early 60s.

I think Libby sells (or at least used to) corned beef in can which still came with a key (albeit made of aluminum now).

Key for a ammo spam can.

This is what's stuck on the tin of my 1941 dated C rat, B unit. It's not exactly the same but cllose.

 

 

 

 

And this one came with the tin in a K-rat. It is much smaller than the one that comes with the C rat but it looks very much like the one op posted.

I think it sure is one or the other.

I love how the original owner of that Ike jacket secured the church key. It's a pretty important little tool to keep handy! Anyone else ever seen one carried in such a way?
