Fantastic grouping! Like the others, I don't know how I missed it the first time around! Thanks for telling his story!

Again...simply a fantastic grouping !!

In fact, my father would have looked up to see the 324th flying overhead as they bombed and strafed the enemy at Cassino on those days in May of 1944 !!

Very cool !!

Ditto on that !! I have many, many groupings I'd love to post but need to find the time...I should make it a New Years resolution too !!

I have/had a slew of images saved off on an external HD but a chdsk obliterated the folder and can't seen to find any of them now. I've tried a couple of freeware programs to find em but none have worked so far. I checked the found000 files and they aren't there either....extremely bummed.

Any suggestions would be most welcome !!!

I can easily see why this is one of your favorites. Incredible history and documentation! I'm trying to visualize the effort to pry off the bomb with a wing... amazing!

Thanks Carl. This was one of my first real premium fighter pilots groups I had ever bought. I still love this set after 10+ years of having it.

Torturing us some more I see JD :)

One of the first posts I saw when I joined the forum and a real motivator to start building my ETO fighter pilot.

Adding a couple of group photos of 510th pilots from the collection. It was a cold and snowy winter

I knew I had a couple more 510th guys in the photo collection. Hope you don't mind my adding them JD. Figure they were squadron mates of your guy.

F/O Noll and Lt. Shanon,

Great post! New to the forum— the 405 FG stuff has a special place in my heart. I’m an avid collector of 405 Fighter Group items— with specific interest in and specifically the 509 Fighter Squadron. I’m currently working on a list of pilots and places with photo documentation. Always enjoy seeing the 405 FG stuff.

If anyone has additional photographs of the 405 FG that they would like to share, or is looking for additional information on the Group/Squadron/Pilots, don’t hesitate to reach out!
