What is the proper size for the earphone allen screws. I have one that was given to me by a friend, but it seems too small. Also a good source for a hardened steel quality tool, not a mush metal one.

Hex Key, .035 (NSN 5120-00-188-5400) I was able to finally find out that size years ago in my SPH-4 Mx manual. Almost no commercial off the shelf Allen sets have a size that small. I was able to find a military Allen wrench set from Kipper Tools that had everything from like a 1" size all the way down to 2 tiny sizes, one of which is the .035. I believe you can get that size from Granger as well. The 2 smallest keys in my set are so small they aren't even in the plastic holder, they are in a small clear pocket that is part of the tool roll the kit goes in. The headset manual for the SPH-4 claims the TK-105 tool kit should have all those items, but I have a TK-105A/G I got surplus and I cant recall seeing one all the way down to .035 in that.

Harbor Freight has 34pc precision screw driver set(item# 93916) that has a 0.9 bit that has worked fine for me.Nice little set with a good assortment of bits.

Alternatively, current speakers use domed, flat-head screws in place of the old allen-heads.

I was able to pick up a proper allen tool by a German company called Wiha.
