I recently picked up a USMC dress sword it has a USMC serial number on it. My question is there a list of who this could have belong to by the number or is it just a sizing code from the manufacturer. The blade is made by Hilborn Hamburger serial # 323.

Dan, the number represents the approval serial number, granted the manufacture, representing its approval (by the US Marine Corps) for manufacture and sale. s/f Darrell
