While doing some research I came across this fascinating site chock full of beautiful photos of war relics found along the old Ho Chi Minh Trail.The ingenious uses that the bombs and other items have been repurposed for by the locals is brilliant.

We'very had similar websites, but I believe this is the first time we have seen this one.

Interesting website. The USAF flight helmet in one of the images is a HGU-2A/P modified with a boom

microphone. Originally painted white and then repainted green in the service with the green paint

flaking off. Probably used by a fixed-wing pilot instead of rotary wing because of the addition of

oxygen mask receivers and gull wing cut outs on the visor housing for better vision. There is also

an image of a cut down U.S. Army SPH-4 helicopter flight helmet. At first glance, I thought it was

a Soviet infantry helmet! Just a few notes.

Wow...

Thank you for posting this. When I was a grunt in 1968 we had to do bomb damage assessments after B-52 strikes along the border in III Corps. These photos confirmed what I always thought: "Someday a whole lot of people are gonna gave swimming pools in their back yards!"
