Got this today from the estate of a Signal Corps vet, John Matuszak. 10 1/4" long blade. I firmly believe that this is made in Australia, as I have others that are similar to it. He also had a few Japanese items; 3 flags, radio, sword, and wire cutters. What I'd like to find out is what the markings are on teh scabbard. Arew they Japanese or some other language?

the markings are in Chinese, I tried to get a translation , but they said the markings are etched poorly, making it hard to read
