This came to me today with a USMC camo cover, any ideas?

 

here is the back, it's about the size of a 50 cent piece.

Been posted a few times, don't think anyone's figured out what they were for yet

Could it be a horse bridle rosette?

It's to thin for that, I was thinking a drill instructors hat badge.

Drill Instructors have always worn typical cover emblems on campaign covers

 

Horse bridles were out of service in the Corps by the time the P1956 pattern emblem was introduced

Interesting, what about it has you placing it P1956 EGA, is it the hooked beak?

To me, the wings and general design of the emblem are consistent of the 1956 pattern

Actually reminds me of the type of thing you would see that came with the 40s and 50s era kids cap pistols and dime store helmets.I remember the plastic helmets here with silver round Army eagle emblems atached to the front

Part of a toy kind of makes sense as it is very thin metal and the tabs are reminiscent of some of the toys i took apart as a kid.
