Help to contact USA located seller

Featured Replies

Dear,

I would appreciate any help to contact US based ebay seller. Shortly the story I purchased an USMC overcoat from ebay seller few months ago, as I am located in Europe I am used to for longer shiping time from USA, but item didn't arrived after 2 months. Seller informed me that USPS returned him the parcel due to packing problems, we agreed that she will ship it again, so I agreed not fill any official ebay claim against seller within ebay time deadline. But since this time I am not able to contact her via ebay PM, paypal email etc. I am experienced ebay user with 8 years membership and 400+ positive feedback and this is first case the seller didn't finished the transaction.

I have seller contact info and would appreciate some US located to call her, as for me it is quite complicted due to time zome diffrence and price cost. I paid for international shipping with tracking number, but never received any number or info confirming shipment. Do not know the reason why seller do not communicate anymore. I am open to any solution, since I want my item, I even will pay again the shiping cost, but need to contact seller.

She is located in city Helena, MT, USA. I can provide name and phone number and our email communication via PM. If there is any forum member close to this location, will cover him any phone cost etc. if you can help me.

Thanks JAROSLAV

Update

first thanks to John for his help so far, I really appreciate his effort

it seems that phone number provided by ebay is not working, John tried some other he was able to find, but no success

unfortunatelly ebay has only provided full name, city, state and phone number, but no address. And they are not willing to contact seller or provide more info. Same with paypal.

At the moment it would be helpfull to find someone located in city Helena, MT to check actual phone directory or someone who has access to paid phone or people databse to find out to whom belongs the number provided by ebay or to get address of the individual, I saw this service on web, but it seems you have to pay for it.

Try whitepages.com or peoplefinder.comI have used them and there is also a reverse search. It is free unless you ask for other records. You can do a phone number and it will try to match it up.If they uses a cell it may be a dead end.

Good Luck.

tryed all those options , all old numbers not working any longer ,

was able to get this

Becky Whealy

1166 E Clinton St.

East Helana MT 59635-3311

by satallite photo there is only 3 houses on the block.

called others with same last name in the area, finding her mother who was very old and didn't know her location or number , hadn't spoke to her in a long time asked if she was in trouble.

also called all the neigbors on the same street , but they all said the same thing , a lady lives there with a bunch of dogs, but they didn't know her name.

there are some other people with the same last name in the state, but have not been able to reach anyone , only answering machines.

still working on it, it seems she has given up on landlines and is most likely using a Cel phone

the only number that I found any one was 406 422-5544 she said she just moved in and was given this number , but not at the 1166 address and that there was no Becky and she had gotten other calls for her .

Use this:

http://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/Ma...dComplaint.aspx

See if the postal inspectors can find her, I think you have enough info for a solid case. When I was stationed in Germany a lady in Seattle tried to rip me off, see got hold of me begging to take the money back when the postal inspector showed up on her door and a warrent.

Do not know the reason why seller do not communicate anymore.

The reason is she got your money and ran. Hope you have luck finding her.

It sounds like a rip off from the start. I have had a couple international sales, and I had tried to request an equivalent to "delivery confirmation", but the PO said that no such thing existed. The only way I could get something similar to that, was if it was delivered express mail. Things have changed with the Post Office over the past few years.

You cannot file a paypal claim?

John,

thank you for continuous effrot to locate her. If you look at her profile on ebay http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...mp;myworld=true it seems, she did just few transactions and run away from ebay from some reson. She is ID verified by ebay, so it should be less complicated to find her, but ebay is not much interested to take any action. Ebay also recommended me to use postal fraud claim or contact local police department. The problem is that when I requested her details from ebay they only provided following info and without address I do not see above options to be sucesfull, but maybe postalinspectors could be able to locate her:

User ID: the_icky_store

Name: Rebecca D Whealy

Company:

City: Helena

State: MT

Country: United States

Phone: (406) 422-5544 and as wrote John it seems phone number is now given to someone else.

She also used papayl address b.whealy@yahoo.com, but whem tried to contact her on this address email was returned due to some address problems

My concern is more the item than money, because after long time I found WW2 USMC overcoat in big special order size 46-41, I am even open to pay again the postage, but no way to contact her.

Patriot - it is too late for paypal claim, as the case is too old and because I belived her to resend the item and didn´t take any action in prescribed deadline

Thanks to everybody here who submited the advice regarding this case.

I am sorry this happened to you.

This unfortunately is a common scam. The Seller will do everything they can do to run out the clock on the amount of time you have available to file a claim.

The best advice is to follow the eBay rules and file the claim. If the Seller is honest and makes good on the claim with either the merchandise or the money returned, the claim can be removed. If they do not respond, they can have their account shut down.

While eBay can only provide you a limited amount of information, they will provide all the information they have in their records to the Postal Inspector. They are restricted by privacy laws as to the amount of information they can provide between Buyer and Seller, but that all changes if there is a criminal investigation by a law enforcement agency.

The best thing I can tell you is be patient, but keep the effort up. I know of claims that were resolved for as little as $20 when pursued by filing with the correct authorities. And there is always the chance that this person has scammed other people as well, which all adds up to a larger crime.
