Hi: I wanted to post my Mother's WWII US Navy WAVES group.....to include a picture of my Mother & Father, who served in the 86th ID "Blackhawk Division", both in uniform. They were very proud of their service in WWII

now THAT is cool, dont see many groupings like that

This is a GREAT grouping and a wonderful tribute to your parents. You are very fortunate to have these items from your parents......many of us would love to have such items from our relatives. Thanks for sharing them here.....that pic of them together in uniform is very special.

Very nice grouping! What is the small pin that looks like the WAVE insignia. It is at the top in the middle.

A great group, though the rating badge in the case looks like a modern era (1980s or later) example. The one in the photo with the photo of your mother looks correct.

David you are correct...when I put the items in the frame ..I didn't have the correct Yeomen 1stCl rating so I bought one in a USN Clothing Sales as a "filler" but thru time...I found the correct rating for the period. When I took the pictures...I hadn't replaced it...but I have done it.

A couple you can be proud of. Do you have a display for your dad?

Great grouping! That little pin would have been private purchase as the issue was a Ruptured Duck.

 

Here are pictures of the small WAVES pin and a picture of my Father's medals, etc...since he was awarded the Bronze Star for a patrol mission across the Rhine River & CIB on April 1, 1945....there should be Oak Leaves on the Bronze Star since Pres. Truman awarded Bronze Star to any Infantry soldiers awarded the CIB.

 

The Philippine Lib medal w/star wasn't awarded to him...but the 86th Inf Div was in there...so my Dad had it on his jacket...so I just added it...know full well he wasn't awarded it.
