British Burma Star Ribbon Information

Hey, folks. I am not sure whether or not this has been posted before (my memory  ), but I was hoping to get an I.D. This two piece, sewn pinback bar features the Asiatic Theatre with one campaign star and what other ribbon? Any guesses?

Thank you in advance,

Ken

I believe that is for the Burma Star from the United Kingdom.

British Burma Star (and before we run down that garden path, the Burma Star was not officially awarded to allied personnel).

I am sure this is not new information, but I always smile when I hear "official" and "unofficial". It seems several servicemen took liberty with those terms. Some "unofficial" items were added after discharge, BUT some were worn prior to.

Is there any possibility that the guy was an American member of the British armed forces and transerred to the US military? I know we have seen this with aircrew in the UK, so wouldn't it be possible to do this in other locations, services??? This bar may very well be legal. Nice bar!

No doubt it was period put together in-theater. (as opposed to some recently created rip-off-the collector Ebay item). So, whatever it is, it's a nice collectable item.
