June 9, 201412 yr #1 Hey everyone... A friend has been trying to put together a uniform grouping at a local museum showcasing a typical C-47 pilot during the D-Day/1944 time period and asked me to post on here for him. It's a bit tough finding really good photos of what flight gear the C-47 pilots would be wearing during the D-Day drops (I've seen everything from A-2s to B-3s, Combat Boots to A-6 Boots, Crusher Caps to B-2s, a rare few with but most without Parachute harnesses, etc.) Does anyone have any good reference photos and or perhaps just any good knowledge on what a typical C-47 pilot would wear? Thanks a bunch!
