Unknown Vietnamese made lifer novelty patch?

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, just picked up this Viet made novelty patch, pretty sure its original war time as I got a number of other good patches from the same source, but I'm not positive as to what it represents with the guy with his head up his rear. Is this a "lifer" patch or something like that? Thanks for any info.

I think it is more a novelty thing expressing a GI's opinion of the US Army in Viet-Nam than a slam of "Lifers" But as I recall some of the senior NCO's weren't the best and brightest, and where seldom seen outside the wire.

That's what I was thinking too since it does say US ARMY.

I agree it's a general overall view of the Army as seen by the soldiers at the time.

I have a patch just like yours that I've had for 30+ years.I had two but traded one YEARS ago.Yours is the only other one i have seen since then.I'm sure you realize he has his head up his A**?The back of mine looks different but the front is the same.

I've seen a number of these in different variations.I think that this sentiment ran high among the troops at that time, thus the popularity.

Nice, could you post a picture of your patch?
