March 11, 201412 yr #1 Anyone know where I can find grips for a patton sword? I really just need the right grip but a pair would work too. Thanks!
March 11, 201412 yr #2 Windless makes reproduction Patton swords and should have grips but I don't know how well they would fit an original sword. Atlanta Cutlery also carries Windless products. I don't know of a source for original grips offhand.
March 11, 201412 yr #3 S&S Firearms has original grips for the patton sword, however they only have repro screws. http://www.ssfirearms.com/proddetail.asp?prod=EW319
March 11, 201412 yr #4 Your best best would be to find a scabbardless beat-to-crap Patton Sword on Ebay that has nice grips.
March 12, 201412 yr Author #5 Thank you guys. I'll post a pic tonight when I get done with garage and yard work.
March 14, 201412 yr #6 The problem with the S&S screws is that they are the same length. Original grip screws are two different lengths; I don't recall offhand whether the S&S screws are the long or short ones.
March 14, 201412 yr Author #7 I have the original screws still, just one of the grips is missing a chunk and wanted to replace the grips since its one I want to keep. Will post pics tonight after I do all my honey-dos.
March 16, 201412 yr Author #8 Pics as promised. Probably my favorite knife type. If I could buy every one, I would.
March 16, 201412 yr #9 A nice example of the cut down knife. Having the original screws should make for a simple repair. My suggestion would be since there is so much wear on the grips that you replace both of them so they will match better.
March 17, 201412 yr #10 Can these be cast in resin??I know the guys who do nodeling can to unreal things in resin
March 21, 201412 yr Author #11 Just got in a set of minty patton grips, and looks like SAIW reshaped the grips on the knives to have a smooth, round top vs a square cut top.
March 21, 201412 yr #12 Correct. They took the ribbing off the top of the grips. Both of my examples appear a file was used to round down the grips. Just got in a set of minty patton grips, and looks like SAIW reshaped the grips on the knives to have a smooth, round top vs a square cut top.

June 18, 20215 yr #16 billl, I think these photos are probably gone forever. This disappearing photo issue is why we prohibited outside picture hosting.
