February 5, 201412 yr #1 Hi there This is my 3rd post on this forum. I want to share this with fellow forum member. This grouping of Unifrom belonged to my aunt, she served in the USAF during the 50s, 60s and mid 70s and is a flight nurse. She was in Nam for the better part of 68, continue on til she retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the 70s. She died a few years back and while me and some family member cleaning out her closet we found a Dress bag full of Uniform she used in the late 70s. I don't really know if those are the same uniform used in Nam by her, but those are all late 60s and early 70s style. And some of them are very clean while the other not. And i took the bag and the unform for restoration. The uniform came with ribbon and name tag, but they were stored seperately and not shown in this post. Please enjoy Women's, Summer Blue and White Cord The label for the shirt is still attached to the dress shirt (See photo below), but the Label of the Dress is missing. The shirt's cutting resemble the Green Cord unifrom but instead of a rounded collar, a sharp collar is placed. You can see the comparsion between the Army Summer Green Cord unifrom and the Air Force Summer Green Cord unfirom below, the uniform comes with a Combination cap (also see photo below) The skirt was still under restoration. Label for the Shirt Side by Side comparsion between Army Green Cord Skirt and Air Force Blue Cord Skirt Side by Side comparsion bewteen Army Green Cord Shirt and Air force Green Cord Shirt Air Force Informal Dress Black. The flight nurse wing in front. Complete with the shoulder board, shirt, skirt and cumberbund Air Force White Summer Mess Dress. Completed with WHite Jacket, Black Shoulder board (Displayed on the Black Informal), White Mess Dress Shirt, White Cumberbund and White Skirt. White US Air Force Combination Cap. I will put more photo here once my restoration project is finished. I Also have her Winter Blue Mess Dress stashed somewhere but i don't quite remember where i put it after the restoration....
February 5, 201412 yr #2 Take a look at the shoulder boards on the dress black uniform. I think you have them backwards. The LTC rank insignia should be on the shoulder side, not on the neck side. If the you have blue chord uniforms that are not clean, you should be able to safely run them through a washing machine on a gentle cycle. I believe you might be able to remove the buttons before washing, if I recall correctly.

That was how the uniform come up when i got it, to be fair, there are several people handled it before i even touch it, as i said i still yet to have time to fix it up and make it presentable. The whole bag have been stacked in my wardobe for nearly 4 years. And the button on the Blue Cord is sew on, not clipped on for some reason.

February 9, 201412 yr #6 The female officers combination cap with bullion hat device is very nice. The girls often referered to these as a "sugar scoop".
