The answer to your question is; currently just under 7,900 service members remain unaccounted for from the Korean War. Other comments:

 

The North Koreans may be "sitting" on some remains.

 

Others are buried where our troops buried them, or left them onthe battlefield before and while withdrawing in Dec of 1950.

 

Yet others were collected, consolidated, and buried/reburied by North Korean civilians once they rerturned to their homes after the various battles on KN soil.

 

Some likely still lie where, or near where, they fell in battle.

 

Over 800 of that 7,900> are resting on US soil, buried as unknowns in the Punchbowl National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.

 

Finally, some are in the lab at JPAC awaiting the identification process.

 

The bottom line is that we need to get back into North Korea before we can recover any more.

As for Dennis Rodman; sadly, he's already stated that he has no interest in that or any political issue. His biggest concern is $$$.
