I do believe that these look like the type of Alan Beckman-made fakes from the 80s (see number 4).  The  hallmark looks like a fantasy attempt at the Orber circle hallmark. Although it is marked sterling, it appears to be pot metal.  The patina looks like something from a can.

The "fine feathering" looks like it is just hash lines (all in one direction) and is so ugly it hurts my feelings.  The findings are rather unremarkable and really don't add or distract either way.

Overall, these wings stand up poorly with more "accepted" versions of the balloon wing, although they do have some similarity to the AMCRAFT/Link high shoulder versions that I believe they are trying to imitate (https://ww2wings.com/wings/usaaf/balloon/tramcraftballoon.shtml).

Thank you Patrick. I believe you are correct 100%

I can’t identify this die type. What is your opinion?

Often attributed to Daniel Smilo and sons. Mostly because (IIRC) they show up in SMILO-labeled boxes.

My wing, it's a duplicate.

This is being offered to me, a British-made jump wing, no markings.

I know, it is a minefield.
But does this have a chance of being original?

Looks good to me. The silver washed brass, the soldering on the fixings and clean shroud lines I like.

Agreed, a WW2 Period British Paratrooper Badge.

A wing that sold recently on eBay, what’s everyone‘s opinion? I think it looks good but I’d like to hear other expertise. I did not win it.

I think the final prices should tell you everything you need to know

Firmin Liason is NO good (Bad Pin, Bad Hallmark and a couple other tells from the CNC generation of fakes)

Firmin Flight Surgeon is 100% GOOD

#1614

Luxenberg Senior Pilot is Good and sold at the bottom of its retail value (one of only a few I've seen)

Brit made para looks good (this pattern is often the one used in nice fakes)
