I've been to Duxford Museum three times in three trips to the UK, that's how good it is. Highly recommended. Thanks for posting.

The D-Day musuem in Southsea, near Portsmouth, is also well worth a visit. The UK has some really great museums.

I can't believe that just about anyone can now have an SR-71....

Seriously thanks for posting your tribute and giving us a look see.

Always enjoy your threads.

Ian,

These are some amazing pictures. It is almost like we are there. However, I could not imagine seeing all of these planes in person.

The B-25 in post number 63 is interesting. I am not sure that I have ever seen a picture of one painted blue like that. Most of the ones

I remember were green or silver. Where would they have used a blue one?

Nice selection. B-24's are rare to find. I have never been close to one on the ground, although I managed to see one in flight... while I was in the middle of a job interview on the 8th floor of a high rise in Ft. Worth, TX! It was hard to stay focused on the interview!
