I picked this up at a show yesterday and was informed by the seller it is Vietnam US Marine Corps. Would anyone know any background on what this patch may have been for, who may have worn it and any significance? I will attach the back of the patch in a seperate post as I am unable to load both in the same. Thanks for any assistance.

Look's like a recent reproduction to me.This one is a reproduction., notice the back how the weaving is horizontal .Looking at the front it look's to be somewhat ok.

I agree.looks computor generated/sewn and artificially aged.Modern copy from the far east.

I'm afraid I agree with the comments above.... this is a recently produced reproduction.

Just be cautious.If it's cheap enough sometimes it's worth the gamble.If you have a camera phone you can always snap a pic and ask somebody.20yrs ago you couldn't do that.

In addition to being a FAKE, this is a FAIL too.

 

This SHAPE of shield was for the VNMC BRIGADE, prior to 1967, BUT in BLACK.

 

When VNMC was expanded to a DIVISION, the shield became GREEN and shaped like ARVN Inf Div patches.
