I recently bought a Green Beret made by Dorothea Knitting Mills, it is in un-issued condition but I have some issues with the inner printed label date. The date is 1964 but the font style and size is different in the cases of the '19' and '64', I am also a little concerned with the quality of the print, it is quite clumsy in appearance. If anyone has examples similar to this or can feedback on its originality I would greatly appreciate the help, I am still a little green to green berets :-)

By the way, the chap who I purchased the Green Beret off is a good friend and says he would take it back if there were any doubts to its authenticity.

I'm not an expert on these types of berets but I see what you mean by the 64 being slightly smaller in size than the 19. The leather tab on the inside of this beret looks like it was hand sewn using whip stitching which on US government contract manufactured "Rifle Green" berets indicates pre 1970. I don't know if the same holds true for the Canadian made berets. I've kept some photos of the inside stamp of similar Dorthea Knitting Mills berets used by our Special Forces. As you can see the date numbers are all the same size unlike your label. However the quality of the printing on the labels match your beret.

Thank you very much for your reply, looking at your 1963 example I feel a little easier that Fleur de Lis labels were at times less typographically uniform. I also compared your 1969 to my recently purchased Red Beret so am happy with that find also, over time I am sure I will learn more as I carefully add more examples.
