Another pickup from this past Sunday's area monthly ASMIC swap meet. I don't actively pursue Civil Air Patrol items, just thought this was a nice representative WWII period CAP uniform and hat to ad to my collection. I added the tie for display.

Nice piece. I had fun being a CAP radio operator using WWII surplus radio gear in the 1960's. We have many Civil Air Patrol threads throughout the forum, but if you want to check them out, go to Google and paste in this phrase:

Nice example. I assume it's just a regular army-issue khaki shirt with added red trim? Is it a factory-made modification or added by the individual?

It is a regular army officer's khaki shirt. The manufacturer's label says it was made by a company called Kay Bro. (Brothers?). The red trim is sewed onto the khaki officer's style epaulettes. It looks professionally done but I can't determine if it was done pre or post purchase. Thanks again

Your CAP khaki shirt is an interesting variety. I have never seen one with a red epaulet "oversewn" on the regular one. Usually the khaki epaulet was removed and replaced by a red one. Great find.

Really nice shirt! I have on from the 40's- 50's.

I had a great time in the CAP during the 1960's myself.

Never saw any collar devices worn that way while I was a member.

I am currently in CAP...Airman 1st class in MD-007 squadron in prince frederick, MD. I have alot of cap stuff but no wwii i would love to get lucky on winning/buying some more...I can only dream
