Happily the connector on my repro wiring set fits just fine, although I would like to change these (and the rear lights) for NOS sealed beams so I'll have to start looking for them. I wonder why they thought this was a good idea, and it was soon changed to use an internally threaded drain plug.Luckily I have one as well, and when I poured some old oil in it and left it alone for a few weeks it didn't leak so I hope it'll stay that way. It has the same field repair, although mine seems to have been brazed rather than soldered.

8 hours ago8 hr #30805 .So more finds in the shed.I pulled two more used take-off distributors out the shed, I was amused at the ' ingenuity ' used on the one repair.First photo a NOS distributor from my NOS spares showing what one looks likephoto two and three a 1970's take-off and all as should be with a factory rivet on the lower collar.photo four and five another 1970's takeoff, however some some reason the factory rivet has been replaced ' ingeniously ' with a bent nail !!!!!!!
