Some people say this one is good, some say the used font is not good. Please give me your opinions please: (It's never too late to ask an 2nd or 3rd opinion )

hi bob..there is a repro out there..yours looks good to me.. The surest way to tell is the two pins in the pommel of an original and the single pinned reproduction...can just make out your two pommel pins..looks good..very nice knife

Please look at the 2nd picture: I think it's shows both pins very well.

And dated, very sweet knife! I wonder compared to what they say this isn't a good knife. Yeah the condition is worn but hell, there aren't many dated ones out there.

I wonder if they were referring to"font used" in referance to the word camillus 1943 being smaller font(lettering)than the normal larger CAMILLUS.Maybe this is why the guy thought it was suspect.

 

I like it.an honest piece with lots of character

This is the condition knife I like to find.....used and showing age and wear but not abused. Not a thing wrong with this piece....it's the pristine condition M3's made for the "gotta be mint" buyer on ebay where you typically see problems.

Probably Camillus used two types of fonts on these Blade Dated M3's. That comment was given by a fellow colelctor who has over 25yr collecting experience. But as I never believe an opinion of just 1 person in this 'green' world, I'am happy to hear there are more positive comments about this knife then negative.

Somebody just put several blade-marked M3's up for auction. It's a good chance to check out markings, even if not going to buy them. See Item No. 130187819984 and some of the other knives the seller has for sale.

The way I see it a collector has to be very lucky to own a blade dated M3 trench knife. In the years I've collected I've only owned one example, a PAL, and it came to me from the son in law of the Army vet. The man was a staff officer based in Alaska so can't say why he had this knife....he obviously never used it. I found an internet ad offering it for sale about ten years ago. It took a $400 offer to score it.....very reasonable in 1998....cheap today,

I found mine just for USD 200 and with the current USD-EUR exchange it's very cheap I think. Probably it just looks nice in my M6 scabbard

Two differente fonts - verdana and times new roman for the date but seems no bid deal, kooks right as rain.

 

 

on the other hand font on this UC for comparison purposes is consistent. It my M-3, brought back by my dad, Supply Officer for Det. 101/OSS/CBI, so I KNOW it's good thanks very much! And yeh it has the Moose M-6....
