March 11, 201214 yr #1 This is another knife I had in my "junk" box which means it prolly came from an auction or flea market. I saw one while browsing these forums and recognized it. Mine looks like 40 miles of rough road with its homemade sheath. The blade looks like its been put to a bench grinder. Why would someone do so much grinding on it? I'm guessing the pommel has been replaced. It doesn't look like others pictured here and the tang is protruding through the bottom. How bad is it? Could it be used for parts or salvaged? I dont have a use for it so I would ebay it if its even worth shipping.
March 11, 201214 yr #5 I don't really care what the die-hard knife collectors think. But I think it's a nice blade. It's had a long life and someone used and liked it enough to make a new sheath and replace the pommel. These knives wern't made to be collectors peices. They were made to be used and sharpened and used even more. I'd buy it from you for the price of shipping. Tyler

March 11, 201214 yr #8 You are a good sport, Tyler. :thumbsup: And you are 100% right. BTW, the PAL RH-36 is a great handling knife, and these old warriors really deserve better than being put out to pasture.
March 12, 201214 yr #9 I'd call it "retired military", and use it. It's still functional. PAL 36s are still reasonable, and plentiful, buy another for the collection. You'd have to get one to replace the pommel anyway. SKIP

However, when you sober up and realize you don't really need it, let me know and I'll throw it up on ebay. hahaha. It looks like first class shipping would have been 3.60 but the USPS wont let you print 1st class labels from their website. It seems they force you to use priority if your to lazy to go to the PO and want to print postage at home. (like me) But in their defense they do give a discount for buying online so priority shipping is only 4.90 in a flat rate envelope. I have plenty of those left over from my ebay heydays and this knife should fit nicely.
