Just to add on it: the white lining is sewn together so it doesn’t fall over the ears or allow for the visor to bend. I had no idea it was such a rarity; I was able to find this one on eBay. Parks This sewing together the edges of the flaps appear to be a somewhat common thing, done no doubt for garrison wear only, in below topic are South Korean worn examples, but it could conceivably of been done in other places Army Wide back then.

July 3, 20242 yr #35 A 1st Lt Richard H. Palmer, a Basic Training Company Commander at the Fort Bliss Texas Training Establishment in 1962 wearing the White Cap, his uniquely has the Brown-ish OD Fur front flap rather than White Fur or Cloth we see.
