Check olut this Case machete

Got this from my uncle's belongings years ago. As you can see from the pics, pretty pedestrian but a decent example. What I hadn't really noticed until a few days ago, was the markings. I had seen them before, but never really looked closely. It looks like it is scratched or burned into the wood and reads"Eneweetok - 1949/58; Big Bomb". I know he fought in Germany, but was in Phillipines after the war. I presume he either got TDYed to Eneweetok or got this from someone sho was there - he was quite a packrat.

I did the best I could with the pics, but it is hard to read. Just thought I would share FWIW.
