Hi all I need some help . I have a dealer offering me some North Vietnamese Reward cards ( Sorry I have no picture I am to look at them this weekend ) . I found some at the online auction site . But very little about them in general .

I would like to find some info about them just in case . How to tell real from fake . one said Fantasy about them . To me that means they never existed .

Any help would be great !!

When I was in AIT, we were trained in " Combat Surveillance Target Acquition MOS 17A" at Ft. Sill, Okla., 1969. The instructors told us there was a $10,000 bounty on our MOS if we were captured. Is it true? Don't know. Never saw proof. Could be a training tactic. I'd like to see a Rewards Card posted. Thanks.

pics would help but Im thinking these are the fakes that have been floating around for several years and common to ebay back in the day. Many styles exist but all are fake/fantasy items. Some have "semi nude" Asian women on them. Also Herb Friedman speaks in detail on Facebook about the cards even saying the man who faked many of these then wrote a book or show cased them in book form to make them seem ore legit.

Here is a common type with an Asian woman.

Will add that dealer/sellers saying "bought them from a vet" doesnt hold water as these have been faked for 20 plus years. You have to remember vets buy stuff off ebay and from fleamarkets and antique shops etc. I have seen many patches in vets hands or estates that came off ebay or from antique malls and shops.

Post photos after you look at them, or if you're jittery that you'll miss out (which is how most folks make mistakes) buy them.

I would say no photos is like a haircut in a dark closet, but often times you have to have them in hand to tell. There are VERY few guys whose word I trust on these, and @doyler mentioned the main one.

The problem nowadays is that the fakes have been around so long - including copies of originals - that the ability to distinguish gets harder with each passing day.

If they are cheap, I'd take a chance. If they are not, and you don't know what you're looking at, not worth it.

everything in this photo is fake/postwar items and can be found in the tourists' markets in Vietnam or sold on line.

Just a thought. What a coincidence under the law you are automatially insured for $10,000 with free Servicemen's Life Insurance, if killed.

Just another thought, what if the soldier seeking the $10,000 REWARD MONEY is killed by the Viet Cong when he shows up, and his family seeks the Servicemen's Group Life Unsurance? Conclusion: VC kill an american soldier (deserter). That's it!
