Odd Shape WWII Shoulder Patch. Need Help!

The person in this photo is Lt. Robert Sumner of the 6th army Alamo Scouts. This photo was taken before or after his time in the Scouts. Before the war ended he was sent to G2 to help plan the Alamo Scouts for the invasion of Japan. So I don't know what the patch on his right sleeve is. Can someone identify it? It's an odd shape, but I can't find it online anywhere. Thank you for your help.

It's probably a Alamo Scout patch, here distorted from the folds of cloth as his arms are folded, and made less discernible because of it being a long shot photo.

Here;s mega zoom on it, to me the two dark areas are that blue, with Indian head in center,

It's not an Alamo Scout patch of any kind. An Alamo Scouts patch is round. A round patch would not distort like that. You would see some of the words going around it.

Other then it being an Alamo Scout patch, can't imagine what it is.

I think what kind 9f appwars like an irregularly shaped patch outline might be creases in the shirt. But, my old eyes can't I tell for sure. However, the way the patch design is divided, and the fact that they are vertical panels made me think of the Army Replacement Command. Sometimes I feel like I can see a faint circular patch outline and sometimes I don't.

Looks sorta like the Free French Forces in United States patch.
