Yesterday at 02:13 AM1 day #1 Bought this studio photo, family lore states that he and his brother were stationed in H.I. and on 7 Dec 41 he steps out of the chapel and sees the subs leaving port during the attack and says that is what I want to do. And so goes family stories. I have seen his obit, but the photo speaks of an Cheif Machinest Mate with Gold rating badge ie 12 Yrs service taken at a San Francisco studio. My take is a pre war photo with an early hat device. No ribbons and possibly an 8 button jacket. Any additional help is appreciated in advance
