Just got this coat.

Do you guys figure it's a Greyhound Bus Drivers coat? They even made a disc for drivers with the Greyhound.

Well....maybe not a Greyhound bus driver coat. I figure it is something kinda rare.

U.S. Postal Express Service.

Does anyone know of a history or roster of this unit? I do understand they were in operation during the war and after the armistice.

The coat is named and would be nice to know more.

Cheers

I have heard somewhere of a greyhound div. but can't remember the details.

The German 116th Panzer Division was the 'Windhund' (Greyhound) division, but I don't think there was a US one. Very cool uniform though!

I saw the greyhound collar insignia listed for $1,000 several years ago - this is for sure one of the rarest WWI uniforms! Congrats!

Leon LaFramboise states in his book that each Army, Corps, and Division was authorized to establish a Postal Express Section of no more than one lieutenant, two sergeants, four corporals and 20 privates. The insignia was authorized in Feb 1919 and dropped in 1920 so you do the math, this may well be the rarest collar insignia there is.
