Croix de Guerre Posted July 9, 2008 Author Share #13 Posted July 9, 2008 WOW C de G what a simply awesome group. Thanks for sharing I love the wings and collar insignia. Thank you all for the kind comments! It ain't a USMC-Navy Cross-Aviator grouping but it isn't too shabby! The collar insignia is interesting as it is pretty uncommon; it was only authorized for about 80 days prior to July 17, 1918. I think the wing is also interesting as it was sewn on at an angle to correspond with the cut of the breast pocket.

vicjoy1945 Posted July 11, 2008 Share #24 Posted July 11, 2008 Hey CdG !! Beautiful, attributed WWI period aviator uniform grouping !! Real ones are very tough to come by !! I especially like the "buffalo" squadron pin and the WWI photos...I have a WWI Ace's uniform but, alas, its from his WWII service. Great stuff !! Belleauwood Posted July 11, 2008 Share #25 Posted July 11, 2008 Croix, Really a great group! I hope that the forum doesn't kick us off for this over abundance of postings. Thanks to you, I'm hooked. We've had many discussions in the past if we were the only nuts out here. This site certainly answers the question. And for those that are asking; - No, my last name DOES NOT begin with a "G"
