Nope. Not a typo. There is/has always been a debate about the origins of the name "Jeep" (which Willis copywrote in1943) as to whether it evolved from "Peep" which a number of GI's called it based on the small vehicle size or from the FORD GPW designation. GPWs were sometimes referred to as "GPs" and "Jeep" could have evolved from that. It was just great to see it in print! OD -

We all need to discuss the sewing machine cam/computerized stitching on both the front and back. It's quite obvious but, for some reason, often unrecognized. I'm no period patch pro but that is a tell that would put me off. -

I have a niece who lives in Gettysburg . That place has been an obsession for me since I was a kid.😀 my Old Man was a history buff as well and Gettysburg and Antietam were yearly pilgrimages for us!😎 Now both my son and a nephew have the bug as well. i read for recreation and US History is nearly always on the menu. Im not a collector, i joined for discussions. Perhaps that was a mistake. PTRN -

"He was one of the 63 charter members of The American Fighter Aces Association"... -->> Major General Joel Benjamin Paris III "As a pilot, Joel was legendary. Other pilots who admired his flying skills have said that he “flew like he had feathers.” He truly loved flying, and maybe that’s why he enjoyed observing birds. They were kindred spirits of the air." -
