One of the Muster Rolls to show what his service number is, which is 1079023   Here's his Marine Corps Muster Rolls.  He had a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 1811 which is a Tank Crewman I believe.   Marine Corps Muster Rolls - Charles J McLaughlin.pdf

Usually im pretty good at distinguishing between repro covers and originals. But lately ive noticed repros have been getting better and this one has honestly stumped me. Its actually just one aspect of the cover. Stitching, double-weave stitches, pacman, saw-tooth on the flaps, background color on the green side, every box checked. Even half of the beach side looks up to par. But the other side of the beach looks a little different. The browns look a little too dark. Maybe its just me? Have shown this to a couple other collecting buddies of mine and most seem to agree its original. But I want to get more opinions.       The beach side in question:    Another photo of the same beach side. Browns look a little darker than usual.

Hello,   You can see morning reports that include him at this NARA link: https://catalog.archives.gov/search?page=1&q=17035607   Be advised that they only go up to Dec 44 at present time. Click on the image numbers to the right to see the relevant individual dated reports:  There are errors, so not all images will include him, and some morning reports will come up without images at all.   Here is a helpful thread on this topic:   This may help you with abbreviations:   TC = Troop Carrier (Army Air Forces) TCC = Troop Carrier Command LD = In line of duty Sv Gp = Service Group DS = Detached Service (temporary assignment) Hq and Hq Sq = Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron   Link to a Morning Reports abbreviation guide: https://www.wwiirangers.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/ABBREVIATIONS-ON-MORNING-REPORTS-ROSTERS.pdf   Guide to APOs: https://dn760007.eu.archive.org/0/items/NumericalListingOfApos/NumericalListingOfApos.pdf   Note on what an Army Air Forces Service Group did: Source: https://www.airuniversity.af.edu/Portals/10/AFEHRI/documents/EnlistedHistory/metz.pdf   Good luck with your continued research and I hope this helps.   Dan

That would be GENERAL STAFF and ARCENT.  Managed to say the wrong thing several times.

If all 3 medals were present , all officially engraved, I could see this selling for $2500-3500 .  The Purple Heart missing, and the Air Medal not being engraved really drop the price.    The paperwork is significant, but unfortunately having the medals is what would drive the price for this group.    Kurt
