I don't collect ID tags but have had several sets through groupings. I will say I find the WW2 NOK tags with street address interesting. Fun to research the address and see if the house is still standing through local appraisal district. I've got one set of a long deceased friend of mine who served with 1/7 cav in 1970/71. No reason to hang on to them but he was a good friend. Can't find his son or daughter in Alabama to hand them off. My boys will have zero reason to hang on to them as they didn't know him. All just temporary stuff in the end

The helmet is rear seam bales move  Liner stamp suggests a 1954 rework or manufacturer date.

Found this neat little pistol at my LGS this morning. Pistol brought home by PFC Herbert Kaplan. I haven't seen too many Walther Model 5's brought home as war trophies. Has a nice little holster and spare magazine. Dealer stated he found the capture papers folded up inside the holster.Too bad he has a common name and no army serial number listed so it will be impossible to research him.  I found another bring-back that I will post another day.

When it comes to these training units, it’s usually a MTT- Mobile Training Teams. Anywhere from 2 -15 solders. That’s why these patches are always harder to find.
