I can feel your pain. We are almost winding down a complete interior repair/remodel/update on our house. So collecting funds have been reduced for a while now. However over the weekend I spent a grand total of $5.00 US at a garage sale. I bought two January 1945 copies of The Stars and Stripes, and for you vintage car buffs, a 1967 yardstick sales promo for a local Chevrolet dealership that still happens to be around. I actually love old yardsticks. I imagine you have meter sticks over there? I was amused by the article about the Tiger tank vs a Garand. mikie -

Marriage certificate of Lloyd J. Andrews Jr. and Anne McKee Courtship/personal letter from Lloyd to his future wife before marriage Distinguished Flying Cross citation (posthumous) War Department casualty correspondence Witness statement describing Andrews’ final combat mission Army Air Forces Memorial Day remembrance letter Luke Field newspaper article covering the DFC presentation Veterans Administration correspondence Church condolence letter Blue Star service banner Western Union telegrams Family photographs WWII scrapbook compiled by the family Southern Pacific Daylight reservation memorandum Pullman rail travel stubs Hotel Stewart, San Francisco souvenir package Valley National Bank loan document Burroughs Adding Machine payroll statement 1943 Victory Tax return and related financial documents Handwritten poetry and personal correspondence U.S. Navy anti-Japanese wartime note/souvenir Miscellaneous WWII family ephemera Particularly interesting are the marriage certificate, a letter from Lloyd to his future wife, the eyewitness account of his final combat, and the extensive postwar correspondence received by his widow.
