combat-helmets Posted January 30, 2011 Share #2 Posted January 30, 2011 as far as I know and to the best of my knowledge, there were no duck patterns produced during Korea. Surplus was used. The change came in 1953 when the Mitchell Pattern shelter half was introduced..
'Flage Guy Posted January 30, 2011 Share #3 Posted January 30, 2011 A number of years ago, a friend of mine (Tom Gordon, "Military Marketplace") had some Marine Shelter Halves, dated in the early '50s, which differed from the W.W.II Halves only by being fitted with snaps instead of buttons. This is the only instance I know of post-War dated "Frogskin"-pattern Shelter Halves showing up.

Greg Robinson Posted February 5, 2011 Share #5 Posted February 5, 2011 in 1952 the usmc contracted for some dark od tents, made to army specs but stencilled "USMC". evidently there was a shortage of shelter halfs during the korean war. greg
