He is at it again, same style, sewn on ribbon racks and labels. One uniform is stained and spotted but the ribbons are pretty clean the other jacket is very tidy but the ribbons are tattered some faded some soiled etc... photos, maybe those he is using to build the uniforms.

$700 EACH and SOLD.

The only thing about his uniforms working in collectors' favor is that they are terribly constructed and are easily recognized.

So in other words, the 2 USN uniforms that were recently sold at $700.00 each were not bought by collectors. I know nothing about antique vases and sure wouldn't drop $1,400.00 on 2 if I couldn't even tell if they were real or not. But that's just me I guess.

So can you identify who the buyer is in the bidder listing? Or are people just monitoring ebay enough that they pick up on his components? This guy has no morals. Reproducing something is one thing but it has to be labeled as such. Any idea how many pieces this guy has put out?

No way to tell how much he has done. You used to be able to look at peoples buying feedback and see what they were buying. Plus Im pretty sure a few members mentioned selling insignia to him that they later saw on a tunic

Yes, eBay has limited the ability to view winning bidder's IDs to only the seller. This guy has been tracked (through 12 pages now) buying ribbons and decorations on eBay and then selling made-up uniforms with those same items sewn on (always by hand and always sloppily) or pinned on. But as long as suckers keep buying, he'll keep making them.

It already sold! Somebody will be showing off their latest 'treasure' shortly.

I don't understand sewing on every ribbon rack (make it harder to see the rear maybe?) and sewing on bullion leaves when pin-on are so much easier to find and mount.

Here's his purchase I'd guess:

I deconstructed some of his monstrosities, he usually glues these ribbons and patches on and makes them look sewn. Saves time so he can crank out more product!

More of his garbage is being sold second hand, buyer beware!

Put Together General Uniform on Ebay. When this exact uniform sold in April 2018 via Bagwell Auction it had neither the name stamp or the current array of ribbons. This was modified by the infamous faker RELICHUNTER52 to closely resemble Gen. Maguire's service within the past year and a half, and sold to this seller in Jan 2019 along with another bad tropical uniform for $700. I emailed the ebay seller, we will see if he updates the listing.

Fortunately, the current seller is honest as he updated the description following my messages with him:

"A kind collector pointed out that he knew the source of this tunic originally and it was a mock up to appear as Maguire's. Please bid accordingly. Essentially you're bidding on an Ike jacket with sterling general stars and some nice ribbon groupings. A nice tribute to this general I suppose. This tunic sold on Bagwells in April of 2018 viable of ProxiBid to RelicHunter52 who did a mock up. I don't want someone else to overpay like I did."

A fool and his money are soon parted. Despite the update to the description that it's a put together, someone bought it for $337.58. I am sure we will see this again in the future being advertised as "original."

At least this seller got some of his money back.

What are Alexander’s details, what is his current eBay sellers name (only one?).

So I guess this tunic is also a "put together"...

Is there anything we can do to stop a crook like this?

RVR,

Sadly there is nothing we can do individually, but collectively, as a forum we can educate each other and inform each other of what is out there and what to be aware of..

The ribbon bar has a mixture of clean ribbons and older ribbons, the mixture of oak leaf clusters may be of concern as well..

One thing about this person on the "the Bay" is that you can see his purchases and then go and see how he has added these purchases to uniforms over a period of time...

Thank you for bringing this one to the surface..
