When we arrive that becomes the sunrise of our lives,
when we depart that is the sunset of our lives,
but it’s the love and happy memories shared between
that linger forever . . . . . . . . . Thanks Ian

I've always found these Insignia interesting as they're the reverse image of the patch/armband yet they are from the NCO Academy Hawaii

How’s your Vietnamese? Although this armband is from the estate of a US Army Advisor I don’t know what the wording means:

Usually “Advisor” is written as “cố vấn”. Ideas?

Keen eye there, Salvage Sailor! I had to look several times to notice how the coins differed from the armband!

They look like coins but they are the clutch back insignia worn by the Instructors, Cadre & DFAC

Years ago I renovated the Hawaii NCO Academy (East Range, Schofield Barracks) and was given these by the cadre when we completed the project.

From left to right: INSTRUCTOR CADRE DFAC

If you look closely you may discern that the CADRE crest is silver and the others are gold

And these are some of the DUI's worn by the staff at NCOA HAWAII

You're close, cán bộ translates to "Cadre"

Cool stuff! I would imagine that actually being in Hawaii you have solid access to some of those ‘goodies’. Thanks very much, Salvage Sailor! Here’s one more for an Army Veterinarian:

I had not seen this before, but as members of the N.Y. Guard wore what uniform items they could get, it would be useful to have such an armband for when wearing civilian clothes. This photo is of members of the 14th Regt. NY Guard training in WW2.

Armbands I have on hand.

I always thought that these MP armbands were odd having shoulder loops.

Very, very cool, jmd62!  Always nice to see WWII goodies, especially when named! I have some Red Cross armbands, too. No photos yet, but I’ll take pics of the ones that have wording on them this weekend. Meanwhile, I’m going to digress into American Civil Defense armbands for awhile. First off, here’s a chart with the various US Civil Defense insignia, most of which are also used on armbands:

Most of these logos were designed by Charles Coiner, a well-known commercial artist, in the early 1940’s.

Very cool, Salvage Sailor. Here’s one from the Red Cross/Red Crescent international regulatory body:

I’ll have more Red Cross armband pics after the weekend.
