jmar Posted September 29, 2012 Share #54 Posted September 29, 2012 Those are some awesome medal bars! That WW2 bar was the one I saw on Ebay a month or two ago? Hi Paul! If your were inquiring about the WWII bar I had posted, the answer is no, I've had the Carmichael for at least 2 years. My best to you! jmar Posted November 7, 2013 Share #56 Posted November 7, 2013 Hello Paul! A fantastic addition, I have yet to get such a fine and complete USCG group. Thank you for sharing it with us. However, it does look like today was a good day for both us! This beauty arrived only a few hours ago. Purchased from another fine Forum member I am very excited to be able to add this nice mounted bar to my care. My best to you and our fellow members, Joe

PaulR Posted November 10, 2013 Author Share #58 Posted November 10, 2013 I remember that group being sold on another forum. I was so tempted by it, but it was the same exact combination as my last posted grouping. Nice pickup. This minibar came with a family named grouping, which included the entire uniform. PaulR Posted November 10, 2013 Author Share #60 Posted November 10, 2013 You beat me to that one... I was so bummed to see the "Sold" post when I saw it. Despite it not being named, I love it.
USMCR79 Posted November 10, 2013 Share #61 Posted November 10, 2013 F2/C Angelo Lordis from Chicago served on the Hutchinson (PF-45) The frigate engaged in shakedown training until 13 April 1944, and departed San Pedro, California, on 30 April for the southwest Pacific. She arrived via Pearl Harbor at one of the most important bodies of water in the Pacific area at that time, Leyte Gulf, on 10 November. There Hutchinson took up escort and patrol duties among the many transports supporting the landing. During her stay off Leyte the ship engaged in several battles with attacking Japaneseaircraft. Hutchinson sailed for Fremantle, Western Australia, via New Guinea, on 30 November 1944. Assigned to the submarine base, Fremantle, for training duty with submarines, Hutchinsonremained in Australia until 27 August 1945. Departing for the United States, she touched atManus and Pearl before arriving at Terminal Island, California, on 10 January 1946.

PaulR Posted November 28, 2013 Author Share #64 Posted November 28, 2013 I won this baby for less than 20 dollars. Although it is unnamed, it is a great one! I am estimating it to be around the Vietnam era.

PaulR Posted November 30, 2013 Author Share #66 Posted November 30, 2013 Here is another for HS2 L.a.n.c.e....M.u.r.d.e.n. He is a contemporary of mine who retired in 1999. He unfortunately passed away a few short years later. I never met him, but a few folks I know who are still in remember him. I dont know why the family felt the need to get rid of this set, but I feel lucky to preserve at least this small part of his life. I have tried a few times to find his family but so far, I have not been really successful. The Achievement Medal is engraved with his name and dates of service while at Base Seattle. PaulR Posted August 29, 2014 Author Share #72 Posted August 29, 2014 Nicely named group to a member with WW2 and Korea service. The Navy Good Conduct and dog tags have the member's name. Sadly, the CG CGM is not named.
