I just picked up this A-2 and it has a squadron patch that I can't ID. It also has a CBI and 7th AAF patch pained on the shoulders. I know that its worn, but it looks like some type of a cupid or gremlin with red wings riding a black bomb while firing a machine gun. There is also what appears to be a red Japanese Torrie (sp?) gate. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jonpost-179-1189368516.jpg post-179-1189368502.jpg

Hello your patch is the 396th Bombardment sqd of the 41st Bomb group 7th AAF I'm a Leather patch artist and have a good color ref of it from a B-25 Pilot at an airshow it is known as a "Unofficial" emblem as it wasn't officially approved during WW-2 but many others were too as I've tracked down over some 100+ myself, not the "actual" patches but photos or color sketches from either veterans, books or collectors etc. I can be reached at [email protected] or at (321) 724-1246 NOON-11PM EASTERN Weekdays.
