Nice bag, that 1st Division one. I'd have thought a fair price too, with a not too common name it may be possible to research.

Brig, great find on the sea bag!! I had that one on my watch list but decided not to bid at the last minute.

 

By the way that's a 3rd Marine Division marked sea bag, NOT 1st Mar Div!! Oft times the 3rd Div guys used the 1st Div tac mark because it was similar to their own but wider and much easier to mark the unit numbers inside.

 

I'm envious!!

I just found this online!! This is a picture of WO Graham E. Rose U.S.M.C.R. Headquarters & Service Company, 20th Marines (Engineer), at Camp Pen, in 1943. He is (left to right) 2nd from the end.
