Allan H. Posted January 8, 2011 Share #3 Posted January 8, 2011 This is the oval of the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment and is an original, WWII vintage piece. I believe these to have been made by Ira Green in Kansas City during the war and they are fairly common in the grand scheme of WWII airborne items. These are most commonly found loose and unused, though I have encountered them in veterans' hands and occassionally sewn to OD wool shirts. I hope this is what you were looking for.
