Bob Hudson Posted December 26, 2010 Share #1 Posted December 26, 2010 The various services formal, evening and mess dress uniforms are seldom seen by non-military folk as these are seldom worn and then only generally private events. I recently bought several uniforms and effects from the estate of a career Navy nurse. Among them were her formal/dinner dress uniforms: basically long navy blue mohair skirt, formal shirt, cummberband and the optional tiara. Here's some screenshots from the online Navy uniform regulations:

sigsaye Posted December 27, 2010 Share #7 Posted December 27, 2010 Agree, and I never liked the whole Pewter buttons for E-6 and below either. On the old Dress Blue Jackets worn from 1775 to 1886, Enlisted Sailors wore brass Navy buttons, why not now? Steve Hesson
