Bearmon Posted December 18, 2010 #1 Posted December 18, 2010 A dear friend of mine gave this to me when she found out I collected patches. She was with Air America in the 60's
Bearmon Posted December 18, 2010 Author #2 Posted December 18, 2010 Forgot to add the Ravens were Forward Air Controllers
doyler Posted December 18, 2010 #3 Posted December 18, 2010 I read a book on the Ravens.Very intresting and lots of missions in Laos.I would say a very rare patch.Seldom seen. RD
irish Posted December 18, 2010 #7 Posted December 18, 2010 A couple more attributed to the Ravens. The bottom patch is for the 54th SO Wing, which I believe was the Ravens parent unit.
firefighter Posted April 21, 2016 #8 Posted April 21, 2016 Just came across this. Great looking patch. It looks THAI made?
Patchcollector Posted February 12, 2018 #9 Posted February 12, 2018 In case the link gets broken I'm posting the image that Irish linked to in post # 7. I have one of the circular patches with the Raven and "Laos" on it too. I think that the center patch is the 56th SOW though
Bob Baldwin Posted July 2, 2018 #10 Posted July 2, 2018 The patches with the eagle (?) and "Laos" at the bottom are FAR pocket patches worn by Lao forces. Another style of FAR pocket patch has a red background and features an Erawan. Only a guess, but I am thinking that the patch with the raven belly up in a glass of bubbly is from when the Ravens were disbanded?

That is a very astute observation, I will ask my friend if that is a possibility.
