carbinekid Posted December 4, 2010 #1 Posted December 4, 2010 Hi guys, My local antique shop seems to have come upon a pile of modern USAF patches, some I suspect that may be theater made. What do you guys think of these? Can anyone give me a unit ID on them and an approximate value? They are all priced at around $3-$5. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.
carbinekid Posted December 4, 2010 Author #2 Posted December 4, 2010 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. 16.
carbinekid Posted December 4, 2010 Author #3 Posted December 4, 2010 I also apologize for the low quality of the pictures, they were taken with my camera phone in the shop.
lamarhooten Posted December 4, 2010 #4 Posted December 4, 2010 I also apologize for the low quality of the pictures, they were taken with my camera phone in the shop. Well, some are Army and some may not be even military. #5,4 and 11 are Army. #5 i belive is the 35th Signal Bat. and #11 and 4 are the flash and wing oval for the same. I might be wrong on those two! #14 might be an ROTC unit or civilian related. #7 is a German item. All the air force look good!
Randy Posted December 4, 2010 #5 Posted December 4, 2010 All the USAF ones are typical US or computer made. The best ones are the 5 FIS F-106 and the 110 TFS, but there's nothing super great/rare there. Hope this helps, drop me a line if you need more info. Randy

carbinekid Posted December 4, 2010 Author #7 Posted December 4, 2010 Thanks very much I may go back and get 3, 8, 10, and 16. I like the older patches, 3 and 10. They are made just like WWII patches, I think they predate the 1960's. kyle
Johnny Signor Posted December 4, 2010 #8 Posted December 4, 2010 Try to get a "lot" price deal as most of them are not really anything all that "rare" and most are "common" types , subdued patches usually aren't worth more than a Dollar most places I've seen them , unless they are of olde Viet nam era which I don't think these are . just my 2 cents worth of advice take or leave it . The #2 patches are not worth no 3 dollars , no more than $1.00 each , pass if they don't come down on those.
Mark1 Posted December 4, 2010 #9 Posted December 4, 2010 Thanks very much I may go back and get 3, 8, 10, and 16. I like the older patches, 3 and 10. They are made just like WWII patches, I think they predate the 1960's. kyle back in the 1950's they used a 4.5" patches, sometime in the 1960's and up to present the Air Force used a 3" patch I would go back and get the number 16, 5th Fighter Interceptor Squadron and the thousand series numbered patches, 4477th TES and the 4513th ATTG Mark
m1ashooter Posted December 4, 2010 #10 Posted December 4, 2010 The SAC patch and the master missile operators badge are priceless, the PACAF patch isn't worth much. I make this evaluation based on having spent 11 years as a SAC officer and MMIII missile combat crew member.
Robswashashore Posted December 4, 2010 #11 Posted December 4, 2010 lol ya had me goin' there for a minute, shooter!
