BEAST Posted January 2, 2007 Share #1 Posted January 2, 2007 Hey! I get to be first in posting to this discussion group! I recently picked up a WAVE grouping consisting of this coat, three skirts, insignia, discharge ID card, newspapers, etc. I thought I would post a few photos tonight. Here is a period photo of the vet: I also have the purse that is shown in the photo. Her coat with the wide ribbons: Her rank: The coat has some staining to it and she replaced two of the original bittons with different USN buttons. Any thoughts on how to clean it? I tried a gently wipe with woolite and it cleaned up somewhat, but it needs something more. Just what, I don't know. Thoughts?

Lee Ragan Posted January 3, 2007 Share #5 Posted January 3, 2007 Beast, That's a really nice WAVE jacket. As for cleaning it, I've had WWII vintage uniforms dry cleaned with no adverse effects at all. It sure makes 'em look better & gets any insect infestation that may be present, out of it. Those were made of top grade cloth and should clean up real nice.
