ALICE M16 pouches during Vietnam

Just noticed something interesting while reading up on the 1975 Mayaguez incident, the last official battle of the US involvement involvement in the Vietnam War. Multiple pictures show Marines using the M16 ALICE pouches. I never knew these made it over before the wars end.

They are not ALICE LC-1 small arms ammunition cases. They are USMC-proprietary LINCLOE small arms ammunition cases [with three internal divider flaps with snap closures].

Thanks! I actually have one of those in my collection, just thought it was an odd variation.

those could be the m1967 pouches developed for the m16's 30 round magazine. The difference between the two is the m1967 pouch has a small strip of webbing stitched to either side of the pouch with another small piece of webbing with a snap on the end to secure a lemon grenade. The ALICE has two pockets with a small strip of webbing going over the top to secure the grenade.
