Archdale, NC -- An American Hero will make his final trip home on Monday. Army Specialist Jacob "Jake" Carroll died November 13th in Afghanistan.

 

Greensboro, High Point and Archdale Police will provide a police escort for Carroll from PTI airport to Cumby Funeral Home in Archdale.

 

A military detail is escorting Carroll's body to PTI Airport Monday morning. The plane is expected to land at 9:30am.

 

After a private service, Greensboro Police will begin the procession to Archdale.

 

Greensboro Police will escort Carroll to the city line where High Point Police will take over. At the High Point/Archdale city line, Archdale Police will provide the final escort to Cumby Funeral Home.

 

Family friends are asking the public to line Highway 62 near Cumby Funeral Home so the the family can feel their support. The procession is expected to arrive in Archdale sometime between 10:30 am and 11:15 am.

 

The Guil-Rand Fire Department is planning to use its ladder truck to drape the American Flag above the motorcade.

 

Army Specialist Jacob "Jake" Carroll's Funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 24th at Green Street Baptist Church on North Rotary Drive in High Point at 2:00 pm. Internment will follow with full military honors ar Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery in High Point.

 

The family has set up a memorial fund in Army Specialist Jacob Carroll's name at First Citizens Bank. The fund will be used to support Carroll's fellow soldiers who are still serving in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan.

My eternal thanks to him and my condolences to his friends and family. This will be a tough holiday season for them and I will keep them in my prayers.

These deaths are never easy. I just had a good friend lose one of his fellow marines after a month long battle post losing both legs and his right arm. He fought it until the end.

 

Rest in peace guys.

I attended the Funeral that day. Was very moving. A lot of people showed at the church and cemetery to honor this young soldier.
